i've been chastised

for not putting more photos up... I am normally the photo queen, but all of my photos from the last two days have been out of focus. I don't know if my camera battery just needs to be charged or if there is something wrong with the camera. So... I am going to charge it and try to get some good photos tomorrow.

today has been a pretty quiet day. ainsley has just been doing a lot of eating, sleeping and pooping. 4 NASTY diapers so far today! I need to go wake her up to feed her. She is such a good baby, just impatient sometimes. She loves her little swing. Thomas set it up last night and she does so well in it. Hannah loves to play with it, too. Thankfully, my sister-in-law just dropped by and brought Hannah a little swing for her dolls. She found it a garage sale and it is soooo cute! Hannah is gonna love it! Thanks, Ber! :) Hopefully I won't have to worry about Hannah pushing Ainsley's swing too high now! Well, that's all for now. I'm gonna go feed the baby... again! :)

home alone

okay, thomas and i are home alone. hannah is on her first sleepover at kimmie's house. and i miss my baby. how sad am i? :) we figured it would be easier on hannah and on kimmie for her to go over there tonight rather than trying to wake her up tomorrow and dropping her off at 4am. so, my daughter is away from me overnight for the very first time. i am going to scrapbook and go to bed early. very early. i miss my daughter. okay, gonna go before i cry!

RESCHEDULED!

Darn it! Due to a misunderstanding and some scheduling issues, I am being induced tomorrow morning. Soooo.... after a sleepless night last night.... and a long day today..... I will have another sleepless night tonight. We have to leave for the hospital at 4am. YIKES! I didn't know there was a 4 am! :)

anyway... we'll post updates as soon as possible!

Tomorrow!

As many of you already know, tomorrow is a big day for our family. I am being induced tomorrow and will hopefully have a baby by early afternoon... i hope, i hope, i hope! We'll post photos as soon as we are able to. The hospital has internet access, but we aren't sure if our computer will work there or not. I may send Thomas out to Panera or somewhere else with free wi-fi to upload photos. We probably won't do a bunch of phone calls, other than to parents, so be sure to check back here for photos! :)

We are all excited. I'm a bit nervous. How am I going to handle having two kids? Hannah is going through a particularly difficult phase right now. I am glad that Thomas will be with me for a few days and then my mom will be here next week. Thomas looked at me earlier today and said, "We're gonna have a baby tomorrow. I don't know if I am ready." Uh, this wasn't a surprise or anything... he's known for 9 months! :) We still don't have a name, so you will all be as surprised as we are tomorrow. We are just praying for a healthy baby that doesn't have to be in the NICU and an easy delivery so that I can be well enough to take care of both my babies pretty quickly. The sooner Thomas can go back to work, the better!

We have to be up in a few hours to get to the hospital nice and early, so I am going to go finish some laundry and some last minute cleaning. I know I won't feel like doing any of it after the baby is born, before Ruthie comes. I can't let Ruthie come to my dirty house. It isn't filthy or anything like that, but I haven't been able to do a really deep cleaning for a LONG time. The bathrooms and the kitchen get wiped down with bleach everyday, but I haven't scrubbed my shower in about a week and a half. I spray it with Tilex... oh well! that probably won't get done tonight, but Hannah's bathroom will. Okay, really gonna go now. Maybe all the cleaning will put me in labor tonight and I won't have to be induced in the morning! lol! that would be nice!

new layout from february...

we had to "bomb" our apartment a couple of months ago
because i kept seeing baby spiders (oh the joys of florida living!).
we decided to do it while we were at church. well, when we
got home 4 hours later, the smell was still way too strong.
so, we had to open the windows and head outside for a couple of hours.
we don't normally go outside to play on sunday, so hannah was in heaven!
she took full advantage of playing outside in her dress. she looked so adorable on her
"Capi" in her dress and sunglasses! Crazy kid!

Zoey Update

isn't she precious? this is my cute little niece! they took her off oxygen over the weekend, but sometime last night, they had to put her back on oxygen because her saturation levels were down. we are still hoping that she gets to go home on Thursday. ashley and dylan are supposed to be moving next week, so hopefully that will work out. i'll keep my blog updated... ash has more photos on her blog if you want to see more. they have been pretty busy just going back and forth to the hospital to be with the baby. it is also finals time for dylan. great timing, eh?

no baby yet

still no new baby at our house... and the doctor this morning says that there isn't any significant change... so I won't know anything new until next week! :) i am thinking that a long walk on the soft sand at the beach sounds great! maybe it will put me in labor! :) although i still don't know if i am quite ready for that since i am not due yet!

i'm sure you all have heard about the shooting at virginia tech by now. what a horrific tragedy. i am completely sick over this. what kind of world are we living in? it really makes you want to keep your kids close to you. but even then, are they really safe? i know that after watching the news today and after the scary things that have been happening in the world lately, i get a little paranoid when people look at my belly and ask how far along i am. i am a bit hesitant to tell anyone. it really makes me grateful that i am going to be in a secure hospital. and i am definitely holding a little tighter to hannah's hand. thomas has even been a bit paranoid about having any photos of hannah up on the internet. we're debating back and forth about whether to take all of our photos down.

okay, i am going to go do something positive and scrapbook some happy memories. still debating... should i switch to 12x12? i am researching costs for digital scrapbooking... i think i can stay with 8.5x11 for about half the cost... i'll post my results later!

would you put this on your wall?

I really want to do some of my own artwork for my walls. This is an 8x10... would you hang it on your wall? assuming, of course, that it matches your color scheme. I just don't know if it is too busy. What do you think?

i just bought something!

eek! i rarely buy digital scrapbooking supplies... only when i get a huge coupon or a huge sale. not because i don't think the products are worth the price or anything like that. but because it just isn't in my budget. every saturday, all the new products at sweet shoppe designs are 20% off for one day only. i usually just drool over everything and only purchase when i am just too tempted! Well, I got paid from ScrapQuick a week or so ago, so I have some PayPal money in my account and I just couldn't resist this product from Ange Barton... Flexible Features Frames. I had some questions about the size of the frames and if they could be resized at all so I emailed the admin and within half an hour I had a detailed email from the designer herself answering every question in detail! Thanks, Ange & thanks to the sweet shoppe admins for your help! yeah, I bought the frames! I have some ideas for photos that I want to frame and hang in Hannah's room. I could technically do it myself and save $2.40, but why when Ange has done all the work already! What a great product and a great timesaver. When I actually get the project finished, I'll take a picture and post it! :)

ouch

i am freaking miserable. wow! i remember being uncomfortable when i was pregnant with hannah, but i am in PAIN constantly. this baby does not want me to forget she is there. how could i with one foot under my ribs, the other foot kicking my gall bladder, her butt pressing against my belly button and her head pushing down. she punched my kidney earlier. i thought i was going to pass out on that one! :) only a few more weeks... and then my little darling will be able to let me know that she is around in other ways!

so, last night at about 10:30, Thomas, Hannah and I went down to the garage to see if we could find the rest of the baby stuff. We went through EVERY SINGLE bin in our garage. An hour and a half later, in the very last bin at the bottom of the stack at the end of the row... we found the breast pump! :) yea! don't know why I am so excited about that torture device, but I am just relieved that I don't have to buy another one. And I found the missing bin of newborn clothes! We also found another bin of 3-6 month clothes. This child has more 0-3 month clothes than I have in my entire wardrobe! :) AND we found about half a bin of bottles and brand new bottle nipples and bottle brushes and baby spoons and crib sheets... I am so excited that I don't have to buy more of that stuff... AND we found the missing boppy. But I love my new one so much that we are going to keep both and just have one next to my bed and one in the family room for daytime feedings. Hannah is so excited that the baby will have her own boppy and Hannah won't have to share hers. She is so funny! When we found the old lumpy boppy, she immediately took it (after I washed it and made it more lumpy!) and put it on her bean bag in her room. She loves to sit on her bean bag and lean back with the boppy behind her head. The other day I went in her room when she was playing and she had three or four dolls propped up in the boppy and was taking turns feeding them with a bottle that she klepto'd from the baby stuff. She is very distraught that her baby bottle is too tall to fit in her play kitchen fridge and wants to keep it in the big fridge. So, I had to find her a basket to store it in. What a crazy kid! We are debating whether or not to go ahead and set up the baby's crib in Hannah's room. We are hoping to not be here long enough to really need it. But I don't want this baby sleeping in our room for six months if we end up not moving until fall. anyway... that's it for now...

a new summery look

well, it was 90 degrees here yesterday and tomorrow promises to be just as hot, so I figured that I would create a more summery look for my blog. I'm not sure how long it will last, though. I'm hoping to have new photos to add soon! :) Amanda Rockwell and Dani Mogstad are two of my favorite designers, so it is only right that I use their graphics for my non-profit blog! :) As far as I could tell, neither of them are opposed to that in their terms of use. :) If I am wrong, let me know!

So, no baby yet. I am just setting myself up for disappointment. I am not even close to my due date... or even close to when Hannah came. I am measuring "on-time" and the doctor isn't saying "any day now" yet. But it sure feels like any day now. I feel like this kid is going to just reach out and wave at me! My insides feel totally bruised from top to bottom. I swear she got mad at me earlier and kicked my gall bladder. I haven't had gall bladder problems in about 2 years, but I had a terrible sudden attack last night. I felt it all the way through my shoulder blades. Earlier tonight, Thomas looked at me and said, "You look miserable." well, thanks! :) He didn't mean anything negative by it, he was just being observant. I think that I jinxed myself when I told my sister a few weeks ago that this pregnancy wasn't too bad... But I refuse to have a baby tonight anyway... no Friday the 13th labor for me. I'm not really superstitious, but I need all the good luck I can get! and I can't be in labor next Thursday night... a brand new episode of Grey's Anatomy & October Road... does life get better than that? You know, I still haven't finished the baby's blessing blanket... I should probably work on that instead of redoing my blog... or maybe I should scrapbook. I just can't get in the mood for it. Hannah keeps interrupting me and I hate to be interrupted when I am in a creative groove.

so, the strangest thing has happened. I can't find my breastpump. We got a Medela mini-electric pump when we had Hannah. I KNOW that I have seen it since we moved here. But I cannot remember where. I can't remember if it was in the house or the garage. It cannot possibly be in the house anywhere. I have searched every single cupboard, drawer and closet in the house. I found the charger, the attachements and the empty box, but no pump. That sucker can't be replaced either. lol... sucker... i didn't even think about that until a second ago. anyway... we have to go down to the garage and see if we can find it down there. i can't find a bunch of my newborn clothes, either. I can't find the dress that Hannah wore home from the hospital and a bunch of other ones. I think I must be losing my mind! I thought I had gone through all of the baby bins, but apparently not.

okay, enough rambling. If anyone thinks of a brilliant place where I might have stored my breastpump, let me know. :)

My new NIECE!

yep, I have another one!
Her name is Zoey Brinn and she was born at 1:45 this morning... 8 lbs, 20 inches. This baby is definitely her father's child... she looks nothing like our side of the family. Lucky kid! :) She is one cute little baby! LOVE THOSE CHEEKS! Okay, I am getting a little ticked off that everyone is having their babies before me! I know, I know, I am not even due yet! But still! Congratulations to Ashley & Dylan! I need to hold her. Give her a big kiss from Aunt MooMoo & Uncle TBone & Crazy Hannah!

my sister...

is in labor right now, and has been since early this morning. She is moving REALLY slowly. They already sent her home once this afternoon because she wasn't progressing fast enough. And then my mom took her back to the hospital this evening... and she is just a little farther along. They may send her back home again. Her contractions are close together, just really irregular. Ash is in a ton of pain and hasn't had any pain meds yet since she hasn't been admitted. My mom is hopeful that since the doctor on call is a female she will be more sympathetic and keep her. Ash's regular doctor is saying that he can't break her water yet... my mom is really frustrated with him. But he is one of the best OBs in Utah. If we move back, he is going to be my doctor.

I have been having painful contractions for the last week... the jerk who said that Braxton Hicks are not painful was LYING! They are totally irregular, though. I am not ready to have this baby yet. I need to get a few more things done. I was teasing Ashley that I was going to have my baby before she had hers. I am really hoping that isn't the case! I'll post photos of my new niece when she gets here! :)

oh! and hannah decided last night to get a cold. we have been pumping her full of cold meds. She is one hyper kid... Dimetapp does not make her sleep! Neither does Robitussin. In fact, they have the opposite effect. She hasn't had a fever at all until tonight. It's only 99.5, but still a fever. I just know that I am going to get this cold, get a fever, go into labor and not be able to have an epidural AGAIN! Just when I decided that I want to have one after all. ;) Hannah sounds so pathetic! Poor kiddo! And when she gets a cold, she pukes. She gags on the mucus and everything comes up. I'm so glad. And she doesn't sleep well, which means I don't sleep well. I have gotten about 3 hours of sleep a night for the last 3 nights. Just practicing for when little Paprika arrives! ;) I just hope that everyone is healthy before she arrives so that my newborn doesn't get sick. anyway... that's it!

FAMILY!!!!!

Oh my goodness! It was so nice to see family today! We met Ryan, Cori & Jordyn in Daytona for lunch. We met up at 7-11 and then drove around to find a restaurant. We drove through some of Daytona's more interesting areas to find somewhere! :) I'm glad that Hannah can't read and doesn't understand what XXX means! :) And I really hope that Jordyn thought that all the signs advertising dancing girls were dance studios! We finally made it to a safe restaurant and had a great time together at lunch. Then we went over to the beach and hung out for a bit. Hannah & Jo built a couple of sandcastles together. We weren't planning to go to the beach so we didn't have Hannah's swimsuit with us or even a towel! :) Thankfully Aunt Cori was more prepared than us! We just let Hannah run around in her diaper since we were only there for about 45 minutes. Thomas & Ryan stayed up on the boardwalk most of the time since they didn't want to get sand in their shoes. It was so nice to see Hannah interacting with family, other kids. Even though Jo is 7 years older than Hannah, it was so much fun to watch them play together. It completely solidified in my mind that we need to move out west and live near family. We are trying to get out there, it just may take us some time. Anyway, thanks for everything, Cori & Ryan! It was great to see you guys! And it only took us a little over an hour to get home, even with traffic! Hope you guys were as lucky!

Pictures from today...

these are in reverse order, but i don't feel like moving them all around... i am going to go scrap some of them!hannah & jo... best friends. you'd never know that they met for the first time today! hannah was so sad when we had to leave her new best friend cousin today! ;) she kept asking us if her new cousin would be waiting for us at our house. poor kiddo!

Hannah & Jo building a sandcastle.

Jo, Hannah & Aunt Cori waving hi to Mommy. Hannah kept running into the water, and Cori kept chasing her. Hannah just ran farther and farther out. I can't go into salt water without breaking out so poor Cori got soaked! Plus, I'm not so fast these days!

Hannah & Jo at the beach

Hannah & her cousin at lunch today!

Easter Pictures

this is the bunny cake that Hannah & I made together... can you tell which side was hers?

I turned my back for about 10 seconds and this is what I saw when I turned back around! nice hair, huh! hannah refuses to keep her ponytail or bow in while she naps. She also like to rub her head while she sleeps. The result is quite beautiful don't you think? :)

little frosting snitcher! she kept sneaking back into the kitchen to stick her finger in the frosting! thank goodness this cake was just for us to eat!

Hannah in her bunny ears during our indoor egg hunt this year! It was too cold to do our egg hunt outside and Thomas made a good point about all of our nasty neighbors with dogs pooping and peeing in the tiny amount of grass that surrounds our building... why can't people use the dog walk area?

Hannah in her easter dress before church. hannah really wanted to wear her red shoes! lol. they are two sizes too big and RED!

soynut butter toast

any takers? okay, as many of you know, i have a TON of food allergies... and they are really crazy ones. i have been CRAVING peanut butter for the last couple of weeks. i loved eating peanut butter and anything flavored with peanut butter from toast to candy to peanut butter icecream. YUM! I haven't had peanut butter since Hannah was a couple of months old... January 2005 to be exact. Today, my taste buds have been satisfied. A few weeks ago I found a product called Soy Wonder at our grocery store. It is basically peanut butter made with soynuts instead of peanuts. It contains no dairy and no gluten... yipee!!! Well, it is $5 for a tiny jar. So, I didn't get it. Today, Thomas went to the grocery store with me and convinced me to just get it. So, I did. The first thing I did when I got home is to pull out the toaster and some bread and make myself some soynut butter toast. and tomorrow's coming attraction... soynut butter & hershey's syrup soy ice cream. for a non-dairy, non-nut containing dessert it is amazing! :) my life is so pathetic! :)

Pregnancy Update

i had another checkup today. no baby coming yet... i have another appointment next week. have you ever squeezed a ketchup packet until it pops? my belly feels like it is about to pop! the skin around my belly button BURNS because it is stretched so tight. I have been using shea butter, and it helps, but it still hurts. I am sure that I will have stretch marks within the next few days. TONS of fun!

Thomas' sister and brother-in-law and niece are in Orlando for the week. We are going to meet them in Daytona for lunch and to hang out on Wednesday. It's pretty close to our hospital, so that's why we are meeting there rather than just meeting them in Orlando. With our luck, if we went down there, I'd end up going into labor! :)

that's all for today... i'll post layouts soon!

My 2 year old is TOO smart!

One day, a couple of months ago, I had "Friends" on while I was folding laundry. One of the characters said, "Oh my G.." We don't say that in our home. Hannah immediately repeated it and I corrected her. I explained that we only say Heavenly Father's name when we are being reverent and kind and only when we need to say it. And we never say it when we are mad or upset. In fact, we don't even let her say "Oh my gosh." and we really try not to say it, either. Well, Hannah being the little stinker that she is, says it constantly, when she's mad, to make me mad. I really try not to react and get angry. I just tell her that it isn't appropriate to say Heavenly Father's name like that and ask her if she likes it when I say her name meanly.

So, tonight, we were reading in Alma, and one of the scripture verses said the word God. She looked at me and said, "Mommy, you said God." I tried to explain to her that it is okay to say God when we are reading our scriptures or when we are singing songs at church or when we are reverently talking about Heavenly Father. She said, "Oh. Okay. So I can say God when I am reading my scriptures." I explained to her that if she is reading the scriptures and the scripture words say God, then she can read it out loud or sing it in a song, etc... So, every night after we are done reading our few little verses of scripture that she will actually sit still for, Hannah whips out her picture of Abinadi and Alma (that she tore out of her copy of the Book of Mormon) and tells us about the pictures and what is going on in them and who the people are in the pictures. Well, tonight, Hannah pulled out her picture and said "Look, there is Abinadi and there are the wicked priests who hurt Abinadi. Look Mom, those bracelets on his arms look like bandages..." This went on as it typically does for about ten minutes and then Hannah looked up at me with this mischevious little glint in her eye and said, "Look, Mom, my scriptures say God, God, God. And because it says it in my scriptures, I can say it." ugh. think quick mom. "Yes, Hannah, but your scriptures say it reverently and you are not saying it reverently." Then Hannah says, "Okay, Mom." whew. crises averted. I never know how to handle things like that. And then Hannah looks up at me and says "But I can say it at church, because we are reverent at church." ::sigh:: i'll deal with that one on Sunday. "Okay, it's time for family prayers!"

And on a totally different note, I have had over 100 ounces of fluid today and I am totally and completely parched! I feel like I could drink a gallon of water... well, not water, but maybe Kool-Aid. I really hope I can drink water again after this pregnancy. I miss drinking a glass of really cold water. It just hurts too bad to do it right now. anyway... i am off to sleep now! have a nice day!

New Layout with Jennifer Howland's Asian Influence

This is a photo from the beginning of March. I love it!
this is a layout that I did using one of the kits that I was assigned at ScrapQuick. When I was first assigned the kit I wasn't too sure about it, but now I LOVE it! If nothing else, this experience has helped me open my eyes to different styles. This layout was loosely the inspiration for the ScrapArt pages I created.

New Layout with SARAAMARIE'S a nature collection:canyonlands kit

Here are some more park pictures! I must have 10 pages of Hannah playing on the slide, but I love them! If you have never played with any of Sara's designs, you need to check out this collection. The colors are amazing! Plus, Sara is from southern Utah and if I ever move to Utah, I can meet her! She is such a sweetie, and that is actually on my list of pros of moving to Utah!
