Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone is having a great treat-filled day! Hannah woke me up at 6:15 this morning. The time change is killing me! :) So, we got up and went to a little bakery at the beach to get pumpkin donuts. They were out, so we got chocolate donuts instead. :) And they had the best fountain Pepsi. We were going to carve our pumpkin when we got home, but the maintenance workers were in our building and they told us that they were getting ready to turn off the water for the day. So, Thomas had to get ready for work instead. I ran around like a crazy person trying to get Hannah bathed and her Halloween costume washed. Then, we were going to go to my mom's house and hang out and run some errands with her today. But then my sister found out last night that she and her husband are moving to Utah this weekend instead of at the end of November. So, my mom is at Ashley's house helping her pack. I can't help with anything there, and Hannah would just get in the way. So, we are at home with no water. Great start to the day! :)

Anyway... we are going to visit Thomas at work tonight before we go trick-or-treating. He is the only finance guy with a little kid who lives with him and he has to work late tonight. He also had to work Father's Day. Great system, eh?! :) I'll post photos tomorrow hopefully! :)

WHAT?

2 posts from me in one day??? I don't know if anyone read the last post I wrote, but scroll down through the next 30 layouts and there are a couple of recent posts! :) I went on a baking spree today... a cleaning spree, too! Thomas has had a stack of bins in our room since we moved in. I have been begging him to clean them up for weeks and he just hasn't done it. So, I did it today. :) I put his clothes that fit in the closet and ones that don't fit are in bins for him to take to the garage. I can't carry them, so he will have to. And they are in quite an inconvenient spot! Maybe he'll even take them down tonight. :) Then I decided that I wanted to bake. So, I made banana bread. We had a ton of brown bananas in the freezer and I need room for groceries next week, so I decided that they needed to go. So, I made 2 loaves of banana bread. I can't eat it, so I also decided to make pumpkin bread. So, I made 2 loaves of pumpkin bread and about 18 pumpkin muffins. YUM! They are so good. I had every intention of freezing the muffins, but I am out of freezer bags and they are just too good to be stuck in the freezer. We are having our Halloween church dinner tomorrow night, so I may take some of those. I am planning to make some sugar cookies, too. It depends on how ambitious I feel tomorrow. I have to go to Wal-Mart and get Hannah some tights to wear with her costume. And I have to get candy to pass out to the kids. I hate Wal-Mart! Especially anytime near a holiday. What a nightmare.

Well, I am exhausted. I am going to bed early tonight. I haven't been sleeping well this week. Have a great weekend!

What is "Happiness"?

I was recently asked "Are you happy?" Well, of course I am happy. "No, are you really happy?" Well, I think so. Then I started thinking more. What is happiness? And this is what I came up with... true happiness is working toward an eternal goal. It is doing what you KNOW to be right and good and true. To me, it is taking care of my family, serving in church and taking care of my home. It is having a good marriage to a man who loves me and supports me (and not just financially!). My definition of happiness lead to me other trains of thought and side-notes. To most people in the world, happiness is a destination. It's about having fun and experiencing pleasure. To me, happiness is a process or a path. You constantly have to keep working toward it or you suddenly realize you aren't really happy. This lead to another question. "What would make you happy?" Loving and being loved in return. Serving and being served. A husband who has the same eternal goals as me. My beautiful daughter. My unborn child being healthy. The ability to worship God as I choose. I have most of these things in my life right now. So, am I happy? For the most part... yes. I have a lot of stress. I have a lot of things that I am working on doing better with in my life. My marriage is a work in progress, as all marriages should be. My daughter is beautiful. My pregnancy is difficult but my unborn child is healthy and strong. I am actively involved in my church and live my religion to the best of my ability.

My question to you is this... Are you happy? Really and truly happy? What do you need to make you happy?

And on a much lighter note... Hannah pooped in her diaper and decided to play with it! I had a fun morning cleaning that up. We have construction workers in our building and on our roof right now. They have been pounding on the building since 8am this morning. They knocked on our door this morning and made me move my car so that it didn't get crushed by a huge crane. That was nice of them! :) There was just a huge crash outside, so I am really glad I moved my car when I did! :) I woke up with a headache and needless to say, it hasn't gotten any better! Oh! I crave Motrin! and Excedrin! I fully expect a migraine by 3pm. Maybe Hannah will take a nap so I can rest, too.

Well, I am off to do more laundry. I got our sheets done this morning and the bathroom rugs. Now I am washing more maternity clothes that have been in boxes in the garage. I am getting to the point where nothing else fits. I am almost 14 weeks, so I guess it is time.

I don't know if I will be online much this weekend. So, if I don't blog until later next week, Happy Halloween!

a movie review & more

Yesterday was a really good day! Thomas was off work. So, we dropped Hannah off at Grandma's house. Then we hung out and went on a DATE! We went to see the new Robin William's movie, Man of the Year. Don't waste your money! The previews portray the movie as a hilarious comedy. So, that is what we were expecting. And the first 45 minutes of the movie were absolutely HILARIOUS! Then, they threw in a drama for the next hour and ruined the movie. The female lead is played by Laura Linney (she played the cop in The Mothman Prophecy) . She plays the character very well, but the character is very poorly written. She is the dumb annoying girl who should know better. She is supposedly a computer genius, but she can't figure out that the evil company she works for can track her if she logs into their computer mainframe???? Anyway... needless to say, we were pretty disappointed. I will NOT purchase the DVD. I will NOT rent the movie. If it comes on TV, I will watch the first 45 minutes and then change the channel. If you live in Utah and the land of $1 movies, it *might* be worth it, if you go on $0.50 night. We went to a matinee and spent $6.50 per ticket. Thankfully, we had a gift card, but I wish we had waited and gone to see a different movie, maybe closer to Christmas. I honestly would have preferred a nap at home to that movie. The language wasn't that great... They dropped the "F"bomb twice. And didn't try to disguise it. There is some sexual humor. But most of that is what you see in the previews. No nudity or sex scenes at least. Anyway...

I am going to be babysitting today. Hopefully Hannah will be nice to the little girl. Hannah is not the nicest kid these days. I am also really wanting to bake. I have some bananas that need to be used, so I may bake some banana bread. I can't eat it, though, so I may have to make some Pumpkin bread, too! :)

Well, I better get going. I have to get some things done before Chloe gets here. Later...

what is going on with blogger tonight??? so frustrating!

Quote about Time & Priorities

Thomas sent me a quote today that I really liked. Even if you aren't LDS, the words apply... When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities." Ezra Taft Benson, "The Great Commandment--Love the Lord," Ensign, May 1988, 4

The Pumpkin Patch!

Okay, I can post through Hello, so here it goes.... First, if you want to see photos of Hannah at the Pumpkin Patch, then scroll down past this boring post and see her! My mom told her it was the Pumpkin Show Patch. Hannah had so much fun! We got a little pumpkin for Hannah and a big pumpkin for our family. This morning Hannah picked up her pumpkin and started throwing it around like a bowling ball. She broke the stem off, too. I had to take it away and put it on the shelf. Hannah pulled a stool over to the shelf and keeps trying to get it down. Little stinker! So, I went to the doctor yesterday and she didn't do a sonogram. I still have the same activity restrictions. And I still don't know if my baby is a boy or girl. I think it might be a girl. Thomas thinks it is a girl, too. BUT we will have to wait until the end of November to find out! Unless I have another sonogram before then, but I doubt that will happen. I actually hope I don't have to have one before then because that means something else bad happened. I don't need anymore bad stuff! :) So that's the news of the day. Really, no news! :)

utter and complete craziness

I am so totally exhausted... just completely drained. I feel like I have washed up on shore after a hurricane. I have so much stress with all of my pregnancy issues. The last thing I need is more stress! and what do i get??? MORE STRESS!

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!! Thomas quit playing Warcraft! For the first time in two years I don't feel like a single mother/housekeeper/cook. Things are drastically better just in the last two days. I about had a breakdown Saturday morning and Thomas realized that things had to change. I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't agreed to stop playing. Now the challenge is to find something that we can both do together. We want to start working out together, but until I get these activity restrictions lifted, we can't do that. Plus, Hannah isn't exactly cooperative at the gym... don't know what we would do with her while we work out. And I can't find my key to the gym. It's around here somewhere, I just can't find it. AND DON'T DIE OF SHOCK... Thomas did the dishes on Saturday night so that I could relax. I knew I loved that man for a reason! :) The last couple of days have been wonderful for us. Difficult as we adjust to each other again, and somewhat stressful to our family routines, but so wonderful!!!! I feel like I did when we were engaged! :) But even better! :) AND we were at church VERY CLOSE to ontime last week. That hasn't happened in several months if not longer! We were actually about 90 seconds late. Darn red lights! :)

Anyway... I have a doctor appointment this afternoon. If I have another sonogram, we could find out if we are having a boy or girl. Thomas has to work this afternoon, but maybe I'll surprise him with a visit. We want to know what we are having so bad! We need to know if we should start washing Hannah's teeny tiny baby clothes or if we should start collecting boy clothes. Thomas & I both really want another girl... financially it would be much easier right now. But, I know that Thomas would be so proud to have a little boy. someone to wrestle with and play ball. I wouldn't mind a Momma's boy either. :) If we don't find out today what we are having, we will definitely find out on Nov 27th. I have another appointment with the specialist then and they have a high-tech ultrasound machine. It is really cool. Our 8 month ultrasound should be REALLY cool. They have a 4-D ultrasound machine. We had one done with Hannah and it was so neat to be able to see your baby's face before they were born. Okay, I am just rambling now, but I am just so happy. Completely stressed, but even more happy. My family is back together... and I didn't even realize it was falling apart. :)

I'm 29... mentally

And Thomas says I act 40! Hah! I didn't like their options because I probably wouldn't do any of the things they asked... But it was fun!

You Are 29 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Okay, Hannah is being a complete terror right now. She has been cranky for the last two days, since she got her flu shot. She fell asleep in the car on the way home from the grocery store earlier and now won't take another nap. She has gotten two timeouts in the last 20 minutes and is heading for #3. She taking all of her fruitsnacks out of a bowl and throwing them on the coffee table. I told her to put them back in the bowl, we'll see if she does it.

The weather totally stinks today and that is not helping matters any. I have a horrible headache and no Pepsi to make it all better. I tried to drink a Coke today, but it made me so sick. I prefer Coke, but my body doesn't handle it so well when I am pregnant. My aunt, the Pepsi Queen, left last night to move back to Chicago... so no after-work Pepsi delivery for me tonight! I'll get one tomorrow morning. We were planning to take Hannah to the pumpkin patch this morning, but it has been raining ALL day. So we will probably take her tomorrow evening, although I really want to go during the day so we can get good photos. I wish we had someplace like Thanksgiving Point in Utah out here. We just don't have anyplace like that here. We do have a stinky, smelly alligator farm, but that isn't exactly the same thing.

And to answer some questions that I have been getting... I am a little over 12 weeks pregnant. I have been bleeding on and off for the last 6 to 7 weeks. I have already had 6 sonograms. I have another one scheduled for next Monday. We'll see if I end up waiting that long to go to the doctor. I started bleeding again this morning after a couple of days of not. I am hurting pretty badly. The doctor can't do anything to stop the bleeding, but they can at least show me that my baby is still safe and healthy. They finally decided that the reason I am bleeding is because I have a bloodclot behind the placenta, where the placenta started to tear away from the wall. The bloodclot basically has to drain. The catch is that the more active I am, the more it fills up. With its current size, it isn't a danger to me or the pregnancy. But, if it gets bigger it could hurt the baby or both of us. So, I am not supposed to lift Hannah. I am not supposed to vacuum. I am supposed to be down more than I am up. I can't do my own grocery shopping. I can't ride in a car for long. I just hurt constantly. And I am having to do too much to take care of Hannah. Thomas is working long hours so he isn't home to help too much. My mom has been out of town more than she has been in town lately. so i am just doing the best i can on my own. my sister has been a big help, but she has her own life and family to deal with.

well, the sun is finally trying to peek out, but it is still raining. and hannah is screaming because she wants to watch Blues Clues with Steve, not Joe. she just almost made herself throw up. she is such a drama queen. we may hit double digit time outs tonight... i am so tired.

I'M NOT GOING!

I am not going to Pumpkin Show, so don't ask! And you askers know who you are! Just drop it!

I'm tired, I'm cranky and I hurt really bad. From head to toe, I hurt. I have a sinus headache and I feel like every muscle & joint in my body is sore. I had to fight Hannah to get her in her carseat earlier today to get home from the doctor's office. That really hurt. She wouldn't get in her carseat on her own and then when I finally lifted her into her seat, she layed down and wouldn't sit up so I could buckle her in. I had to lift her into place 4 different times just to get her buckled. I was going to stop by the grocery store to get some fresh produce, too, but there was no way I was going to risk having to lift Hannah again. So, we'll just wait and go to the grocery store on Wednesday when Thomas is off work. We have canned fruit that Hannah can eat and a couple of apples left, too. And I just have to get creative with my salads! :) I am thinking a salad with Teriyaki beef and Craisins tonight. Some spinach would be really good right now, but I am not risking that either.

So, Hannah's ears are all clear now. No more infection. Hannah had the first part of her flu shot today. We have to go back next month for the other half. I have to get one next week, too. The last thing we need around here right now is the flu. What we all really need right now is a nap. I am going to go see if I can convince Hannah to take a nap now! Have a great day! :)

funny little creature

Hannah is such a funny little girl. We ran to the mall today with my sister and when we got home Hannah was exhausted. I made her lunch and then she laid down on her couch and watched Lazy Town. She fell asleep pretty quickly. When the first epidsode of Lazy Town ended, she jumped off her couch, yelled " I love this song!" and danced like there was no tomorrow. Then, she laid back down and is almost asleep again! :) She is my funny little girl!

Her new favorite word is "ever". Everything is her favorite "ever" and she is pretty emphatic about it. She told Thomas yesterday that she is "Daddy's best girl, EVER!" Hmmmm... what about me? just kidding! ;) She loves her daddy and I am definitely glad. She uses the word differently with me. "Mom, don't put me in my carseat EVER!" or "I don't like that medicine EVER!" although, she did hug me earlier and tell me that I am her most beautiful mom EVER. Gotta love it when they are too young to see all your flaws! :) I'll enjoy it while I can.

I posted a bunch more layouts. I have gotten a lot of really supercute kits lately. I am taking Hannah to the pumpkin patch next week to take some pictures. I refuse to buy my pumpkin there, though. Why spend $15 for a pumpkin I can get for $4 at Wal-Mart or just use the electric one that is in my garage? It's not like we are even going to be at our place on Halloween. We are going Trick or Treating in my parents' neighborhood, even if it isn't their neighborhood for much longer. We know everyone there and it is an established neighborhood with families. We know which houses to avoid and which wierdos give out the religious tracts instead of candy. If you are going to give me a religious tract to read, at least give me some chocolate to eat while I am reading! know what I mean? :) my parents gave out pass-along cards with full-size candy bars last year. I bet no one on their street minded getting an offer for a free book or video along with their huge Hershey bar. speaking of chocolate, doesn't a Twix sound good? Yum! I bought a bunch of Halloween candy to give out and to put in Thomas's office. I'd say we have eaten about half of it ourselves! :) We'll be the losers who put a bowl of Smarties on their front porch with a "Just Take One" sign. :) and you know why? because we already ate all the good stuff! :) i love halloween!
