I planted a garden today!!!

I am so excited! I planted a little tiny garden today! We love fresh tomatoes, so this morning my mom and i went to Lowes and bought a bunch of HUGE plastic pots and a TON of really heavy Miracle Gro and some plants. We got 2 yellow tomato plants, 3 Better Boy tomatoes, 1 Roma tomato and 1 eggplant vine. I love eggplant. I wanted to get a jalapeno plant, but they only came in packs of 9 and nobody needs that many jalapenos! So, IF I ever move, I get to take one yello tomato, one Better Boy tomato, one Roma tomato and 1 eggplant vine! along with all my other poor little plants. I have to go to walmart tomorrow and get more miracle gro soil and a couple more pots and rocks. We were two pots short (we thought we already had some big ones) and a couple of bags of soil short, too. I need to re-pot my jasmine, too. Ugh! Not looking forward to more heavy bags! AND we have to pull out most of the flowers in the front flower bed, too. They got killed by frost this winter. We are going to sod almost up to the big tree. I love working outside on a lawn when it isn't 10000 degrees. It was 81 here today, but there was NO humidity, so it was super nice!

$0.99 8.5x11 prints at Adorama Pix

Check out Adorama Pix for $0.99 8.5x11 prints!!! Make sure to use coupon code PXSCRAPBOOK when you place your order.

I need to print out about 400 digital layouts and I can't afford to spend much. So, I emailed the owners of AdoramaPix, a studio out of New York who has an awesome reputation for print quality. Last year they had a sale for $0.99 8.5x11 prints, so I asked them when they would be doing it this year. Herman emailed me back and stated there wasn't much interest in it last year, so they didn't plan to do it this year, but that if I could help generate some interest, they might be able to do it each year. SO, UNTIL 4/30/2006, 8.5X11 PRINTS ARE $0.99 AT ADORAMA PIX USING THE ABOVE COUPON CODE!!! And, no, I am not printing all 400 layouts, but I sure would like to!

Hannah got new sunglasses today and she actually wanted to wear them! She also kept her hat on almost all day! Yea! We are making progress!

Digital Scrapbooking Post!

Wait! DON'T SKIP THIS POST!!!!! Okay, now that I have your attention, I will insert links to the websites where I am on the Creative Team!
RAKScraps
I am on the Events Team and the Sponsor Team. This means that I help plan chats and monthly scrapbook challenges to keep people motivated and help have fun at the site! The sponsor team is responsible for creating layouts each month with digital scrapbooking kits that are provided by the sponsors of RAKScraps. Each month we have two or three sponsors to create layouts for. We also write reviews of the kits for the RAKScraps newsletter. We have really awesome sponsors each month, so it is a LOT of fun! RAKScraps is a totally not-for-profit website, so there is no store at RAKScraps. The website is funded by donations and fundraiser kits that are sold at Scrapdish.
SaraAmarie @ 3Scrapateers
Three Scrapateers is a website that provides a store as well as a place to share layouts and enjoy challenges. I work only with SaraAmarie's digital kits. There are several designers who sell their work at this store, but I am exclusively on SaraAmarie's team. Each month I will create around 4 layouts from 2 of her kits. Her style is really different and I LOVE it!
Scrapdish
Yes, this is the same Scrapdish that is the main sponsor of RAKScraps! The owners and admin of RAKScraps are also the owners and admin at Scrapdish. The designers at Scrapdish are so amazing! They each have their own style and they complement each other. You can find almost any style at Scrapdish. Each month I will create 2 layouts per kit that I am given. I will usually get 2 kits per month. Sometimes I get to choose both kits I want to work with, sometimes I will be assigned one kit and choose one kit. Some people might be a little frightened about that, but I honestly don't think there are any kits at Scrapdish that I would not like. I made a list of kits I would like to work with last night and there were over 20 kits on that list! They were my absolute favorites!!! It could take me YEARS to work through them all! :) I may have to just suck it up and buy some of them! :)

These are my teams. They are all slightly different and I love them all for different reasons. Each designer puts their own heart and soul into their work and I like being able to get a sense of each of them! I LOVE digital scrapbooking. I got so tired of all the paper and the messes of paper scrapping. I do miss having completed pages in my hand at the end of the day. BUT, the good thing is that I can print a 4x6 "proof" of it and if I don't like it in print, I can change it before I spend money to have it printed! The cheapest place I have found to have my pages printed is $1.99 per page, unbound. I just got a coupon from My Publisher for 50% off any order over $100. Each page ends up being $.75 and it is bound into a book. The only problem is that the pages are 12" wide by 9" tall. That would work for my March book, but not for my earlier books where the pages are tall. I'll have to see what I can figure out. Some photo printing studios have sales occasionally for $.99 per print. That would be ideal. ..

This is another self-portrait with my glasses on. At least my hair and makeup are done! Is my nose really that big? This photo is not so flattering either! :)

My new Glasses

I made Shelby take this photo of me a few minutes ago. Please excuse the bad hair/makeup/face day! :) I have one of those days pretty much everyday!

Got new glasses today!

yea!!! my eyes have been going bad for a long time now and I finally had an eye appointment last week. The doctor said that my eyes aren't really that bad, but he gave me a prescription for reading glasses. So, he dilated my eyes and sent me out to the waiting area to pick my glasses. That's good. . . pick glasses when you can't see! :) I chose some cute artsy plastic frames. I believe they are "pecan" color. They are cute, but I thought they were a little different looking. When I went to pick them up today, I kind of looked at them and said "Huh. Are you sure those are the right ones?" I thought they were tortoise shell, but they are just plain old brown plastic. The good thing is that they are lined (I guess that is the right word) with white plastic, so the light color bounces off my face and keeps it from looking like my glasses are too dark. I feel like an old granny, though, with these tiny little glasses. :) I'll make Thomas take a picture of my later! By the way, our Costco discontinued selling pretzels in the food area, but they replaced them with Churros. Yum!!!!

I was picked for Scrapdish's Creative Team! :)

Oh man, was I shocked when I checked my email last night! I was chosen to be on the Creative Team for Scrapdish. They are the RAKStar Sponsor for RAKScraps, one of the other Creative Teams I am on. I have been really discouraged about my scrapbooking abilities lately and to be chosen for 2 more amazing Creative Teams has really boosted my self-confidence! I am trying new things and focusing more on my layouts. One of the really awesome perks is that I get some free kits from Scrapdish now, too! :) The designers there are incredibly talented! I was supposed to pick a couple of new kits from their store and I had such a hard time choosing just two! But I picked "Beachy Keen" and "Habit of Excellence". I am so excited! Can you tell?

Poop!

This is Hannah's new favorite thing to say to me! She loves to come up to me and say "Poop!" whether she has actually pooped or not. So, I have to stop what I am doing to check her little diaper. What scares me is that she is getting ready for potty-training. I don't want to do it. I like the freedom that diapers offer to me. I am going to have to start planning my trips around clean bathrooms. And I really don't want to have to start cleaning the carpet all the time. Although, I did just buy a carpet cleaner. Home Depot had a really nice $120 carpet cleaner on clearance for $50. I had just gotten paid, so I bought it. We have wanted one since we got married. I guess patience pays off sometimes! :)

Maybe not moving now. . .

my brother got a message from the property management group yesterday and they are "working" on finding renters. of course they are! :) so, we may not be moving after all. we should know in a week or two. . .

Monday, March 20, 2006

Maybe moving soon. . . .

. . .as in sometime this week! My brother has an investment property that he wants to put tenants in. The property management company that he was going to work with hasn't done anything for him yet. So, he asked us if we were interested in moving into the house for a very reduced rent. Of course, we agreed! So, it looks like we are going to be moving on Thursday! Yea! The house is 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and it is HUGE! We are only going to live there for a year, so we have to try not to get used to living in this huge nice house because in a year we are going to be buying our own normal sized home! So, if anyone wants to come visit, this would be the year to do it! :) We are still hoping to make it out to Utah this summer, but we'll have to see what happens! So, we are frantically obtaining all the necessary items to make the house liveable for us. . . baby gates so that Hannah doesn't fall down the stairs again, bed rails so that Hannah doesn't fall out of her big girl bed. We aren't even going to put the crib up again. Straight to the attic with that! Attic? Yes, we will finally have an attic to put all my bins of Christmas decorations out of site! And the best part, I will have a craft room! :) Chrissy and Jill, you should come out and scrapbook for a week. We'll spent the days on the beach and the nights scrapbooking in my craft room! You'll have to bring your own supplies, though, because I don't have tons of them like Cori. We still have to buy a shower curtain rod, outdoor garbage cans, a lawn mower, a weed eater, and a blower. We are leaving most of the house the color that it is because we don't want to buy enough paint to re-do it and I kind of like the tan color. But we are going to re-paint the formal living room (which will contain our computer desk and a rocking chair) and Hannah's room. I want her room to be a bit more feminine, but I don't really want to go pink. We may go a pale apple green. And of course, I am getting sick. . . I am completely nauseated! I think I ate something with milk hiding in it. . . Thomas hasn't even seen this house. I just told him what neighborhood it is in and he said it was fine with him! :) I'll post pictures of my new temporary house when I get some. We may not have internet for a while, though. I'll miss you all!

Cleaning Lady. . .

guess what! I am now a part-time cleaning lady! My little bro is buying a bunch of investment properties and I am his personal cleaner. I just started a 3000+ square foot house today. It is going to take me a LONG time to get it clean, probably all week. It looks clean on the surface but I don't think the previous owners ever deep cleaned. Plus Jacob has been doing some renovations so there is dust everywhere. I almost burned up my vacuum on sheetrock dust. The house is 2 stories and I had Hannah with me today. She did good going up stairs, but she had some problems going down! I told her not to get near the stairs, but she just laughed at me and started trying to climb down anyway. I threw the duster over the railing and ran after her, but by then she had already rolled halfway down the staircase. Okay, it was only about 4 shallow stairs! She cried for a minute and clung to me and then she was fine. No bumps or bruises. Nothing broken. I thought she would have learned her lesson, but NO! She tried to climb down again. I caught her on her second step down and locked her in one of the bedrooms with me. You can't have any open doors around that kid! It scared me to death! I need to get a baby gate to take with me to these houses. We don't have stairs, but most of these houses will.

It's amazing what you can find in old shoeboxes! I am scanning all of Thomas's old photos and look at what I found (among all the photos of ex-girlfriends!)

Little Whiny Wiggleworm

I think I only got about two hours of sleep last night. Hannah fussed all night long, and when she wasn't fussing, she was screaming. Around 4 this morning I finally brought her into our bed. I gave her some Motrin, but it didn't help. She wanted to play for a while and around 6, she finally fell asleep. She is a little wiggleworm, so she squirmed around for quite a while. Poor Thomas had to get up at 7 this morning. When he woke up, he was holding hands with Hannah! How cute! :) Poor me, I had to get up at 7:30 to take him to work! I am sooo sleepy! Hannah woke up right before we left, so needless to say, she is really cranky! She has been snuggly all day. She wants to cuddle, but she wants to move around. It is really frustrating! I just put her down for her nap. She has been so cranky I haven't had a chance to take a shower yet. I better go do that before she wakes up. Today is a 1/2 day at Shelby's school. So when she gets home she is going to go to the allergist with me and then I am going to take her to Target so that she can buy a toy with the gift cards she got for her birthday! That kid racked up on gift cards. She got $15 from WalMart and $65 from Target! Geesh! I need to have a birthday party! :)

HEADACHE!

I have an absolutely wretched headache today. It started out not too badly this morning, but by 3:00 this afternoon, I thought I was going to pass out! I just took an Excedrin Migraine and I think it is starting to kick in. I'm not seeing black spots anymore. That's always good, eh!
Hannah is just adorable! She is a little monster sometimes (most of the time) but she is also the cutest little thing in the entire world! She has the prettiest smile and she is hilarious! I love listening to her sing her primary songs! She is now singing "Follow the Prophet" and "Scripture Power". I am in the Primary presidency, so Hannah and I learn the Primary song each month that the older kids are learning. She is doing really well, too! But my favorite song of hers is "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home". It is just too cute!

This was taken of Hannah this morning! She likes to look at Mommy, not at the camera! She is so adorable! I found this dress at Ross for $5. I love it!
