Visit Misty Cato's blog for a free computer desktop! I used her Fields of Fun kit to create the desktop. It's a .png file, so you just drag it into your editing program, slip your photos under the desktop, add any journaling you may want to your calendar and save! Then you can save it as your wallpaper. It's an amazing store with some GORGEOUS designs! Check these out! The images should be clickable. There is a also a code on the store blog for 30% off your purchase... I don't know how long the code is good for, so head over there and grab some beautiful stuff! There are GORGEOUS doodles, both in whimsical and primitive style. There are tons of designs for your altered art as well. This is a store that I will be following closely... and probably spend more money than I should there! :)

My big project!!!

So, this is the project that has kept me insanely busy for the last week! :) Sweet Shoppe Designs announced today that they will be carrying Basic Grey & Maya Road shaped albums in their store! The designers flooded the store with pre-made albums produced from their favorite kits. SaraAmarie, an amazing designer who I have had the pleasure of working with for over two years now, commissioned me to create several albums for her. Here are the two that are up in the store today! These little projects are adorable! I printed off a couple of them, and am trying to get them done, but I can't find my scrapbook adhesive... that's what happens when you go digital! :) So, you can purchase the pre-made albums and the actual albums all in one place! One stop shopping! Although, you can probably find the albums cheaper at a brick & mortar store. It's pretty convenient to do it all in one place, though. Look for more of these albums to be coming soon!

On Saturday, we went to Grandpa & Grandma Cardall's house for a family Easter party. Nothing like getting the kids all hopped up on sugar a week early! Hannah thinks it's Easter all week. But she had a really good time playing with her cousins and doing an Easter egg hunt. Ainsley liked the shiny pink eggs. Hannah loved all the candy inside the eggs, Mommy DID NOT! There were oval-shaped candies that looked like chocolate. I made Thomas bite into one to see if there was anything inside. Nothing but Hershey's chocolate! SCORE! So, I started eating them out of Ainsley's basket. Delicious! Until I bit into a peanut butter filled one! NOT GOOD! I immediately spit it out, brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth and took allergy medicine, but my mouth and throat itched for over four hours anyway. I'm really lucky it wasn't worse. I have officially decided that I am no longer eating anything from anyone or anywhere unless I can read the packaging! It really scared me. We don't let our kids even eat peanut butter, so I forget that other people allow their kids to eat it. No more unpackaged candy for us! But, the good news is that I didn't die or have to go to the emergency room. AND we had a good time visiting with friends and family at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Other than that, nothing much has happened around here. We are trying really hard to get our house completely put together this week. We need to hang some shelves and figure out what to do with our clothes. We still haven't figured out what to do about a dresser. So, for now, our clothes are in storage bins. lol! :) I feel like I am back in college, except with half the closet space (and half the wardrobe! I miss being able to share clothes with my roomie!). We have to get one of our cars fixed and registered tomorrow. It didn't pass the inspection due a check engine light being on (it hasn't had its 30k mile inspection) and a couple of other things. So, we can't just take it to any mechanic, we have to take it to a dealership. Sounds like a conspiracy between the state of Utah and car dealerships to me. Not looking forward to getting the mechanic's bill for that one. I wish I had spent more time with my dad learning how to fix cars. I am guessing that they are going to tell us that we need a new catalytic converter tomorrow. What a pain!

Ruthie's birthday present

This is the little mini-album that I made my mom for her birthday. It is 2.5"x3.5". I did 1 page for each family, 1 page for the kids in each family, 1 page for Shelbsters & 1 page of Mom & Dad. I didn't have any pictures of Amber or any recent ones of Thomas with the girls, so neither of them are in the album. Sorry guys! I'll be sure to include you in the next version. I plan to update this album pretty frequently as the kids get older. We can't have Grandma Ruthie sporting old pictures of the babies now can we??? I used the pages of Ashley's family because I think those are my favorite pages! :) I love that picture of Zoey. This is actually Hannah's copy of the album. So, if any of my sisters want a copy of this for their kiddos, send me an email and I'll send you the files and instructions. It's super easy! These are just vertical ID badge holders that are tied together with ribbon. I mean, it's a very difficult gift to make someone and it takes hours and hours to put together... Sorry, Momma, I can't lie. It was really easy to put together once the layouts were finished. :) Love ya! And Happy Belated Birthday!

my scrapbooking business

I finally have my digital scrapbooking site up and running. I have a few more things to tweak and more information to add. But I have a list of services and prices up, so that's a start! AND I have my very first, non-family, digital scrapbooking client! I've done cards and invitations for lots of people. I have done blog headers for people. I have done scrapbooks and digital scrapbooks for family members. But this is a first for me! Woohoo! I was contracted to do a baby book for a little boy... another first for me! But I am really enjoying it! So, if you know anyone looking to have photos scanned or scrapbooks made, please send them to my website!
